Lysosome cells are called scavenger cells and they can digest the worn-out cell organelles and pathogens present inside the cell. When there is any wounded or damaged cell present, lysosome cells secrete an enzyme that destroys the whole cell, thus it acts as a natural scavenger or suicidal bag.

Scavenger cells are primarily known as macrophages. Macrophages are a type of white blood cell that play a crucial role in the immune system by engulfing and digesting cellular debris, pathogens, and other harmful particles. They help to clean up dead cells and foreign substances from the body’s tissues. Additionally, macrophages contribute to initiating and regulating the immune response. Their scavenger function is vital for maintaining tissue homeostasis and protecting the body from infections and diseases.
