CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) is the professional licence that allows a pilot to work commercially, while airline pilot training is the broader training process that prepares a pilot for an airline career.
In simple terms, CPL is the licence; airline pilot training is the preparation for working as an airline pilot. Airline-oriented training may include advanced aircraft training, instrument flying, multi-engine training and airline-specific preparation.
