The SI unit of light is the candela (cd).The candela is the unit of luminous intensity, which measures the amount of light emitted in a particular direction by a light source. It is defined based on the perception of brightness by the human eye, with specific reference to green light. The candela is one of the seven base SI units and is used to quantify the brightness of light sources such as light bulbs, LEDs, and other luminaires.
