Ribosomes are responsible for synthesizing proteins by translating messenger RNA (mRNA) into amino acid sequences. They can be found floating freely in the cytoplasm or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum, forming rough ER.
Ribosomes also known as the protein manufacturing unit of the cell, the main function of the ribosome is that it acts as the site where amino acids are assembled to produce proteins.
