On the occasion of Lohri, people gathered to celebrate the festival together and went to Jallianwala Bagh for mela. At the same time there was Rowlatt act imposed in which gathering was not allowed. As soon as General Dyer got the information of gathering he went on the spot and started firing on the innocent people and this is how the massacre happened.
