The ancient Greek god of the sun was Helios. The son of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, Helios was of the same generation as other powerful Greek gods such as Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. The ancient Greek people believed that Helios crossed the heavens every day in a burning sun chariot.
