The father of vaccination is Edward Jenner. He was an English doctor who, in 1796, developed the first successful vaccine. Jenner discovered that by using material from cowpox lesions, he could create immunity to smallpox, a deadly disease. His work laid the foundation for modern immunology and the development of vaccines for various diseases.
