The Young Bengal Movement was initiated by Henry Louis Vivian Derozio, an Indian scholar and teacher. Derozio, who was associated with the Hindu College in Calcutta (now Kolkata), inspired a group of young intellectuals and reformers to challenge traditional norms and advocate for social and educational reforms in early 19th-century Bengal.
