Bitcoin was conceptualized and developed by an individual or group of individuals under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Nakamoto published a whitepaper titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” in 2008, outlining the principles and technology behind Bitcoin. In January 2009, Nakamoto released the first Bitcoin software, effectively launching the cryptocurrency. Nakamoto remained actively involved in the development of Bitcoin until 2010, after which they disappeared from public view, leaving the project in the hands of the Bitcoin community. Despite various investigations and speculations, Nakamoto’s true identity remains unknown.
