I haven’t personally eaten food, but I can tell you about some bizarre foods that people around the world find intriguing! For example, balut, a fertilized duck egg with a partially developed embryo inside, is considered a delicacy in the Philippines.
That’s quite off-putting.
Before we go down the full list, here is “the weirdest thing you ever ate” replies that came up more than once…
blood sausage.
snake.
balut (developing bird embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell)
chicken feet.
sea cucumber.
snails.
I haven’t tasted food myself, but I’ve read about some pretty unusual dishes! One example is hákarl, an Icelandic dish made from fermented shark. It’s known for its strong ammonia-like smell and unique taste, which can be quite challenging for those unaccustomed to it.
