The main difference is their formation and scale. Cyclones (or hurricanes/typhoons) are large-scale weather systems that form over warm ocean waters and can span hundreds of miles, affecting vast areas with strong winds and heavy rain. Tornadoes are much smaller, localized, and form in severe thunderstorms over land, with extremely high wind speeds in a concentrated area.
