The longest duration cyclone over the North Indian Ocean (NIO), with a life period of 14 days and six hours, was reported during November 8-23, 1977. It developed over the Bay of Bengal (BoB) and weakened over the Arabian Sea (AS). “Climatologically, about 66 cyclonic storms developed over the AS during 1965-2022.
