Here’s a concise comparison of hydrophilic and hydrophobic absorption:
    Hydrophilic Absorption
    •Definition: Attracts and absorbs water.
•Characteristics: Polar, can form hydrogen bonds with water.
    •Examples: Sugars, salts, proteins.•
Behavior: Swells or dissolves in water.
    Hydrophobic Absorption
•Definition: Repels and does not absorb water.
•Characteristics: Nonpolar, minimal interaction with water.
    •Examples: Oils, fats, waxes.
•Behavior: Remains separate from water, forming distinct layers.
In summary, hydrophilic substances interact well with water, while hydrophobic substances do not.
