Analog signals are continuous electrical signals that vary in amplitude and frequency over time. Examples include sound waves and voltage levels. Digital signals, on the other hand, are discrete signals represented by binary digits (bits), either 0 or 1. They have distinct levels and are used in digital communication systems, such as computers and smartphones.
