Endothelial cells are thin, flat (squamous cells) that form the inner linings of the blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and smooth muscle cells. endothelial cells form the endothelium, which is thought to be the largest organ in the body. The major function of the cells is vasodilation and vasoconstriction. They aid blood vessels to relax and contract, regulate blood flow, control inflammation, maintain tissue homeostasis, and prevent unwanted blood clotting. Keeping these cells healthy is essential for long-term cardiovascular health.
endothelial function can be improved and maintained healthy via regular physical activities like brisk walking, cycling, swimming and performing moderate-intensity exercises.
