The two main types of plankton are phytoplankton and zooplankton.
Phytoplankton: These plant-like organisms that undergo photosynthesis and include microscopic organisms like diatoms and dinoflagellates, as well as blue-green algae.
Zooplankton:These animal-like organisms consume other organisms and include jellyfish, crustaceans.Zooplankton and other small marine creatures are eaten by fish, crustaceans, and other larger species.
The two main types of plankton are:
1. Phytoplankton: These are microscopic plant-like organisms that perform photosynthesis. They are the primary producers in aquatic ecosystems, forming the base of the food chain.
2. Zooplankton: These are microscopic animal-like organisms that feed on phytoplankton or other small organisms. They play a crucial role in transferring energy from phytoplankton to larger predators in the aquatic food web.
