    Dicalcium silicate (C2S) in cement contributes to long-term strength development and durability. It reacts more slowly with water compared to tricalcium silicate (C3S), providing strength over time and generating less heat during hydration.

    Dicalcium Silicate is about (25 – 40 %) of cement. It hydrates and hardens slowly and takes a long time to add to the strength (after a year or more). It imparts resistance to chemical attack.
