The PSTM quota applies as a 20% reservation in direct recruitment — meaning it changes the competitive comparison pool for candidates rather than adding bonus marks to their score. It is applicable only to Open/Direct Recruitment candidates and does not extend to Departmental Quota candidates. To claim it, the candidate’s entire education — from 1st standard through the qualifying degree (or the exam’s specified minimum qualification) — must have been completed in Tamil medium, verified through documents like the Transfer Certificate, Marksheets, or Degree Certificate.
