Mahatma Gandhi withdrew the Non-Cooperation
Movement on Feb,12 1922 because of which of the
following incident?
The Non-cooperation movement was withdrawn because
of the Chauri Chaura incident. On 5 February 1922 a clash
took place at Chauri Chaura, a small town in the district
of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Although Gandhiji had
stopped the national revolt single-handedly, on 10 March
1922, he was arrested. On 18 March 1922, he was
imprisoned for six years for publishing seditious
materials. This led to suppression of the movement and
was followed by the arrest of other leaders.
