On August 25, 2026, NSA Ajit Doval and Chinese FM Wang Yi held the 25th round of Special Representatives’ talks in Beijing, agreeing to keep working toward a political settlement on the border.This follows troop pullbacks from two friction points and Modi’s first China visit in seven years, signaling a gradual thaw after the deadly 2020 Galwan clash.It’s an incremental but meaningful step — not a resolution.
These talks are important for improving India-China relations. Regular talks can help reduce tensions, build trust and solve border issues peacefully. The recent discussions and troop disengagement show some positive progress. However, both countries need to continue talking and respect existing agreements. Overall, the talks are a good step, but better relations will take time and effort from both sides.
