    Yes. Pilates increases flexibility through controlled stretching combined with strengthening exercises, allowing muscles to lengthen safely while becoming stronger. Because movements are performed gradually and with proper alignment, many participants experience less soreness than they would after high-intensity workouts. Some mild muscle fatigue is completely normal, especially during the first few classes as your body adapts to using muscles that may not have been activated regularly before. However, Pilates generally avoids the excessive soreness that often follows heavy weightlifting or intense interval training.
