Artificial lighting may cause photosynthesis
Studies have found associations between excessive artificial light exposure and an increased risk of certain types of cancer, including breast cancer and prostate cancer. Disruption of the body’s circadian rhythm and suppression of melatonin production are believed to play a role in cancer development.
Artificial lighting can disrupt natural circadian rhythms and cause light pollution. This can affect ecosystems by altering animal behavior, such as migration patterns and breeding cycles. It also impacts human health by disrupting sleep patterns and potentially contributing to increased energy consumption and environmental degradation.
