While jumping from a slowly moving bus, one must run for a short distance in the direction of motion due to property of inertia. When the passenger jumps out, the lower part of the person’s body comes at rest on touching the ground, but the upper part remains in the state of motion due to inertia of motion as a result of which person may fall forward and get seriously injured.
