A pyroclastic flow is a fast-moving, extremely hot mixture of volcanic gases, ash, and rock fragments that flows down the sides of a volcano during an explosive eruption. It is dangerous due to its high temperatures, speed, and the destructive force with which it travels, capable of incinerating anything in its path.
