When you’re cold, your body prioritizes keeping vital organs warm by redirecting blood flow away from your extremities. This is done through the constriction of blood vessels in your hands and feet. Reduced blood flow to these areas lowers their temperature, making them feel colder compared to the rest of your body, which is maintaining a more consistent temperature.
