Nepal’s floods are so serious because:
🏔️ A glacier and mountain slope collapsed, sending huge amounts of water, ice and rocks downhill.
🌧️ Heavy rain made the flooding worse.
🌡️ Rising temperatures are weakening glaciers and mountain slopes.
⚡ The flood came very suddenly, giving people little time to escape.
🏘️ Roads, homes and hydropower projects were badly damaged.
The August 26 disaster has become one of Nepal’s worst flood disasters in decades.
