Kidneys are a pair of organs in the abdomen that perform many vital functions to keep the body balanced.
1) Filters blood
2) Balances bodily chemicals
3) Make hormones
4) Removes extra bodily fluids
The kidneys are essential for filtering waste and excess fluids from the blood, but their functions go beyond that. They regulate blood pressure by controlling the balance of electrolytes and the amount of fluid in the body. Kidneys also produce hormones that stimulate red blood cell production and activate vitamin D for healthy bones. Impaired kidney function can lead to serious conditions like hypertension, anemia, and bone disease.
