Because OTP is honestly the easiest part of the whole process. It just proves your phone is linked to Aadhaar. After that, the system starts comparing name, DOB, gender and all that. That’s where it usually breaks. Even one extra initial or different surname format can mess it up. And sometimes the portal just bugs out for no reason. OTP success ≠ successful linking. I learned that the hard way.
