Satyendra Nath Tagore was the first Indian to join the Indian Civil Service. he was posted to the Bombay ICS, where he served his entire career from 1864 to 1897. He was also the author of various Bengali and English books and translated works from Sanskrit into Bengali.
The first Indian to join the Indian Civil Service (ICS) was Satyendranath Tagore. He passed the ICS examination in 1863 and began his service in the British administration. Tagore was also known for his contributions to literature and was the elder brother of the famous poet Rabindranath Tagore.
