Mahatma Gandhi, often referred to as the “Father of the Nation,” was a prominent leader of India’s independence movement against British rule. Through nonviolent civil disobedience and Satyagraha (truth-force), Gandhi mobilized millions of Indians in the struggle for freedom, ultimately leading to India’s independence in 1947.
