As of January 2024, Toyota Motor Corp. is the world’s largest automaker for the fourth year in a row, selling 11.2 million vehicles in 2023, which is more than ever before. This includes sales from its subsidiaries, Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd.. Toyota’s largest rival, Volkswagen Group, sold 9.24 million vehicles in 2023, including sedans, SUVs, compact cars, and trucks.
