Dynamite was invented by Alfred Nobel, a Swedish chemist, engineer, and inventor. He patented dynamite in 1867. Nobel discovered that by mixing nitroglycerin with a stabilizing agent, such as diatomaceous earth (also known as kieselguhr), he could create a safer and more manageable explosive. This invention significantly improved the safety and utility of explosives for construction and mining. Alfred Nobel’s invention of dynamite and his other contributions to science and industry eventually led him to establish the Nobel Prizes, which are awarded for outstanding achievements in various fields.
