The father of IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) in India is Dr. Subhash Mukhopadhyay. He was an Indian physician and researcher who successfully performed the first IVF procedure in India in 1978. Dr. Mukhopadhyay’s achievement came shortly after the birth of Louise Brown, the world’s first IVF baby, and his work contributed significantly to the field of reproductive medicine in India. However, due to controversies and lack of recognition at the time, Dr. Mukhopadhyay’s pioneering work in IVF was not widely acknowledged until years later.
