The first Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer to arrest two sitting Chief Ministers in India is Karnal Singh. He arrested Lalu Prasad Yadav, the then Chief Minister of Bihar, in 1997, and later, in 2002, he arrested J. Jayalalithaa, the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
