The correct answer is Lord Mountbatten. Lord Mountbatten was the last Viceroy of India who oversaw the creation of the independent states of India and Pakistan. Loius Mountbatten was an officer in the British Royal Navy, he was the last Viceroy of India and the first governor-general of independent India.
