The President of India has the power to dissolve the Lok Sabha, which is the lower house of Parliament. This dissolution typically occurs on the advice of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers. The Lok Sabha can be dissolved either at the end of its five-year term or earlier if the Prime Minister advises the President to do so, usually in situations where a new mandate from the electorate is sought.
