HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol is good for health.
HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol, sometimes called “good” cholesterol, absorbs cholesterol in the blood and carries it back to the liver. The liver then flushes it from the body. High levels of HDL cholesterol can lower your risk for heart disease and stroke.
Unsaturated fats, found in foods like nuts, seeds, avocados, and oily fish, are generally considered beneficial for health. These fats can help improve cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of heart disease, and provide essential fatty acids that the body needs but cannot produce on its own. Including sources of unsaturated fats in moderation as part of a balanced diet can contribute to overall health and well-being.
