    The tallest Himalayan mountain in the Indian territory is Kangchenjunga. It stands at an elevation of 8,586 meters (28,169 feet) above sea level and is the third highest peak in the world. Kangchenjunga is located on the border between Nepal and the Indian state of Sikkim, with its summit crossing into both countries.
