The Kashmir Red stag, which is also known as
Hangul, is the state animal of Jammu & Kashmir. Only 300 Hangul are found in the wild as its habitat is threatened by destruction. It is found in Dachigam National Park in Jammu & Kashmir and in northern Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh.
