Indira Gandhi Canal is India’s longest and world’s largest irrigation project. The canal begins at the Harike Barrage in Firozpur, a few kilometers east of the confluence of the Sutlej and Beas rivers in the Indian state of Punjab, and extends to irrigation facilities in the Thar Desert in north-west Rajasthan.
