In general, High-Pressure (HP) turbines are the most efficient because they operate at higher pressure and temperature, allowing for better energy extraction. Intermediate-Pressure (IP) turbines are also efficient but typically extract less energy compared to HP turbines. Low-Pressure (LP) turbines, while essential, are less efficient since they deal with steam that has already expanded in HP and IP turbines. Many steam turbine manufacturing companies, like NCON Turbines, use multi-stage turbine systems to optimize efficiency by utilizing HP, IP, and LP turbines together for maximum energy conversion.
