Vanaspati ghee is manufactured from liquid vegetable fats like groundnut oil, coconut oil etc. It is manufactured by catalytic hydrogenation. Catalytic hydrogenation is a process by which hydrogen gas is passed through vegetable oils in the presence of catalyst like nickel (Ni), platinum (Pt) or palladium (Pd) to convert the oil into solid Vanaspati ghee.
