The Third Five-Year Plan of India (1961-1966) is also known as the Gadgil Yojana. It was named after D.R. Gadgil, who was the then Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission. This plan focused on agriculture, with an emphasis on improving food production and achieving self-sufficiency in food grains.
