The India men’s hockey team won a bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics with a 2-1 win against Spain. It was the first time since 1972 that India bagged consecutive Olympic hockey medals. Midfielder Abhishek and forward Shamsher Singh scored for India to seal the win at the Yves du Manoir Stadium here. Spain had taken an early lead through a penalty stroke by Marc Miralles in the second quarter. India drew level just before halftime through a drag flick by captain Harmanpreet Singh. The Netherlands took gold, defeating Germany 2-1 in the shootout in the final.
