The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final was a Twenty20 International cricket match played at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on 29 June 2024 to determine the winner of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It was played between South Africa and India. In the final, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs to win their second T20 World Cup title.Virat Kohli was named as the Player of the match for scoring 76 runs off 59 balls while Jasprit Bumrah won the Player of the tournament award for taking 15 wickets throughout the tournament.Rohit Sharma became the fourth captain from India to win an ICC tournament after Kapil Dev, Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni.India also became the first team in the T20 World Cup history to win the title undefeated throughout the tournament.This match was the last T20I match of Virat Kohli and Indian captain Rohit Sharma.India received $2.45 million as the prize money for winning the tournament from ICC.
India ended their 13-year wait for an ICC Cricket World Cup trophy when they beat South Africa by seven runs to lift the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in a thrilling final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
