The 33rd edition of the Olympics began in Paris and comprises numerous events of 32 different sports, some of which are new events such as breakdancing popularly known as Breaking, surfing, skateboarding, and sport climbing. The first ever Olympic Games took place in Athens, Greece, in 1896. The Games take place every four years. The five Olympic rings represent the ‘five parts of the world’ where the Olympic movement holds sway. The Olympic motto, ‘Citius-Altius-Fortius’ translates from Latin to ‘Faster-Higher-Stronger’ in English.
