The Indian Forest Research Institute, located on the Dehradun-Chakrata motorable road, 7 km from Ghantaghar in Dehradun city, is the largest forest-based training institute in India. Most of the forest officers in India come from this institute. The building of the Forest Research Institute is very magnificent and it also has a museum.
