Asclepius was a deity of medicine and healing in ancient Greek mythology. Temples dedicated to Asclepius, known as Asclepieia, served as healing centers where patients would seek cures through rituals, prayers, and sleep therapy. The belief was that Asclepius would communicate with patients through dreams to provide healing or guidance on treatment.
