Answer: The Gateway of India is a historic monument located in Mumbai. It was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911. The structure, completed in 1924, is an arch made of basalt and stands at the waterfront in Apollo Bunder area. It serves as a symbolic ceremonial entrance to India and a popular tourist attraction.
