Chlorophyll plays a crucial role in photosynthesis by absorbing light energy from the sun. This energy is then used to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. Chlorophyll, which is found in the chloroplasts of plant cells, primarily absorbs light in the blue and red wavelengths, while reflecting green light, which is why plants appear green.
